English translation

2478. Narrated 'Abdullāh bin Mas'ūd رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: The Prophet ﷺ entered Makkah and (at that time) there were three hundred and sixty idols around the Ka'bah. He started stabbing the idols with a stick he had in his hand and reciting: "And say Truth (i.e., Islamic Monotheism or this Qur'an or Jihad against polytheists) has come and Bātil (falsehood, i.e., Satan or polytheism) has vanished." (V.17:81)
