Text and translation

English translation

3538. Narrated Jābir رضي الله عنه: The Prophet ﷺ said, “Name yourselves after me, but do not call yourselves by my Kunya.” (1) (Ch. 20) Kunya means calling a man : O father of so-and-so, or a woman : O mother of so-and-so and this is a custom of Arabs.
