English translation

4031. Narrated Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنهما: Allāh's Messenger ﷺ burnt and cut down the date-palm trees of Bani An-Naḏīr at a place called Al-Buwaīra. Allāh تعالى then revealed: "What you (O Muslims) cut down of the date-palm trees (of the enemy) or you left them standing on their stems. It was by the Leave of Allāh..." (V.59:5)

4031 - حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: «حَرَّقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَخْلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَقَطَعَ، وَهِيَ البُوَيْرَةُ» فَنَزَلَتْ: {مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَائِمَةً عَلَى أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ} [الحشر: 5]
