4296. Narrated Jābir bin 'Abdullāh رضي الله عنهما that he heard Allāh's Messenger ﷺ saying in the year of the Conquest (of Makkah) while he was in Makkah, "Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ have made the selling of wine (i.e., alcoholic drinks) unlawful."
4296 - حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ عَامَ الفَتْحِ: وَهُوَ بِمَكَّةَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ حَرَّمَ بَيْعَ الخَمْرِ»
