English translation

4533. Narrated ‘Ali رضي الله عنه: On the day of Al-Khandaq (the battle of the Trench). The Prophet ﷺ said, “They (i.e., Mushrikūn) prevented us from offering the middle Salāt (the best — Aṣr prayer) till the sun had set. May Allāh fill their graves, their houses (or their bellies) with fire.”

4533 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ح وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: يَوْمَ الخَنْدَقِ «حَبَسُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ، مَلَأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ، أَوْ أَجْوَافَهُمْ - شَكَّ يَحْيَى - نَارًا»
