English translation
4542. Narrated 'Āishah رضي الله عنها: When the last Verses of Sūrat Al-Baqarah were revealed, the Prophet ﷺ read them in the mosque and prohibited the trade of alcoholic liquors.

"...Then take a notice of war from Allāh and His Messenger..." (V.2:279)

4542 - حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: «لَمَّا أُنْزِلَتِ الآيَاتُ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ البَقَرَةِ، قَرَأَهُنَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي المَسْجِدِ، وَحَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الخَمْرِ»
