English translation

4860. Narrated Abū Hurairah رضي الله عنه: Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ said, “Whoever takes an oath in which he (forgetfully) mentions Al-Lāt and ‘Al-Uzza, should say: ‘Lā ilāha illallāh’ (none has the right to be worshipped but Allāh). And whoever says (1) (Ch. 2) Lāt and ‘Uzza were two idols worshipped by the pagan Arabs during the Pre-Islāmic Period of Ignorance. to his companion, 'Come along, let us gamble,' must give in charity (as an expiation for his sin)."
