English translation

4936. Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd رضي الله عنه I saw Allāh's Messenger ﷺ pointing with his index and middle fingers, saying, "The time of my advent and the Hour (Doomsday) are like these two fingers." The Great Catastrophe will overwhelm everything. (80) SŪRAT 'ABASA(He frowned) In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious,the Most Merciful.

4936 - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ المِقْدَامِ، حَدَّثَنَا الفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ هَكَذَا، بِالوُسْطَى وَالَّتِي تَلِي الإِبْهَامَ «بُعِثْتُ وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَاتَيْنِ» سُورَةُ عَبَسَ {عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى} [عبس: 1]: «كَلَحَ وَأَعْرَضَ» وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ: {مُطَهَّرَةٍ} [البقرة: 25]: " لاَ يَمَسُّهَا إِلَّا المُطَهَّرُونَ، وَهُمُ المَلاَئِكَةُ، وَهَذَا مِثْلُ قَوْلِهِ: {فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا} [النازعات: 5]: جَعَلَ المَلاَئِكَةَ وَالصُّحُفَ مُطَهَّرَةً، لِأَنَّ الصُّحُفَ يَقَعُ عَلَيْهَا التَّطْهِيرُ، فَجُعِلَ التَّطْهِيرُ لِمَنْ حَمَلَهَا أَيْضًا، {سَفَرَةٍ} [عبس: 15]: المَلاَئِكَةُ وَاحِدُهُمْ سَافِرٌ، سَفَرْتُ: أَصْلَحْتُ بَيْنَهُمْ، وَجُعِلَتِ المَلاَئِكَةُ - إِذَا نَزَلَتْ بِوَحْيِ اللَّهِ وَتَأْدِيَتِهِ - كَالسَّفِيرِ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ القَوْمِ " وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ: {تَصَدَّى} [عبس: 6]: «تَغَافَلَ عَنْهُ» وَقَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: {لَمَّا يَقْضِ} [عبس: 23]: «لاَ يَقْضِي أَحَدٌ مَا أُمِرَ بِهِ» وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: {تَرْهَقُهَا} [عبس: 41]: «تَغْشَاهَا شِدَّةٌ»، {مُسْفِرَةٌ} [عبس: 38]: «مُشْرِقَةٌ»، {بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ} [عبس: 15] وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: " كَتَبَةٍ أَسْفَارًا، كُتُبًا {تَلَهَّى} [عبس: 10]: تَشَاغَلَ، يُقَالُ: وَاحِدُ الأَسْفَارِ سِفْرٌ "
