5978. Narrated Asmā' bint Abū Bakr رضي الله عنها: My mother came to me, hoping (for my favour) during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ. I asked the Prophet ﷺ, "May I treat her kindly?" He replied, "Yes." Ibn 'Uyaina said, "Then Allāh revealed: 'Allāh does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion, nor drove you out of your homes.'" (V.60:8)
5978 - حَدَّثَنَا الحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَتْ: أَتَتْنِي أُمِّي رَاغِبَةً، فِي عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: آصِلُهَا؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» قَالَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ: فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِيهَا: {لاَ يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ} [الممتحنة: 8]
