English translation
5998. Narrated 'Aishah رضي الله عنها: A bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "You (people) kiss the boys! We don't kiss them." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I cannot put mercy in your heart after Allāh has taken it away from it."

To be merciful to one's children, kiss them and embrace them.

5998 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: تُقَبِّلُونَ الصِّبْيَانَ؟ فَمَا نُقَبِّلُهُمْ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَوَأَمْلِكُ لَكَ أَنْ نَزَعَ اللَّهُ مِنْ قَلْبِكَ الرَّحْمَةَ»
