6118. Narrated 'Abdullāh bin 'Umar رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who was admonishing his brother regarding 'Al-Hayā' and was saying, "You are very shy, and I am afraid that it (i.e., your shyness) might harm you." On that, Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said, "Leave him, for Al-Hayā' is (a part) of Faith." (See H. 24)
6118 - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ العَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ، وَهُوَ يُعَاتِبُ أَخَاهُ فِي الحَيَاءِ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّكَ لَتَسْتَحْيِي، حَتَّى كَأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ: قَدْ أَضَرَّ بِكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «دَعْهُ، فَإِنَّ الحَيَاءَ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ»
