7520. Narrated ‘Abdullāh رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ I asked Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ, “What is the greatest sin with Allāh?” He said, “To set up a rival unto Allāh though He Alone created you.” I said, “That is indeed a great sin.” Then I asked, “What is next?” He said, “To kill your son lest he should share your food with you.” I further asked, “What is next?” He said, “To commit illegal intercourse with the wife of your neighbour.” [See Hadīth No.4477, Vol. 6]
7520 - حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَيُّ الذَّنْبِ أَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِلَّهِ نِدًّا، وَهُوَ خَلَقَكَ»، قُلْتُ: إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَعَظِيمٌ، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ: «ثُمَّ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ وَلَدَكَ تَخَافُ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ مَعَكَ»، قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ: «ثُمَّ أَنْ تُزَانِيَ بِحَلِيلَةِ جَارِكَ»
