Commentary

This shows that, if for some reason, a person is not able to perform the two Rak'ah before Fajr, he can offer them after the rising of the sun. These Rak'ah shall, however, be regarded as Qada' (a prayer offered after due time). It is, therefore, desirable to offer them before sunrise, since they being the part of Fajr, if performed within the prescribed time, shall not be classed as Qada'.
