Commentary

This Hadith and others like it, serve to indicate that the Prophet ﷺ used to pray even the Witr of three Rak'ah with two Taslim, which is to say that he used to say the first Taslim on completion of two Rak'ah, then moved to offer the last one Rak'ah. In view of this it would be desirable to pray three Rak'ah of Witr with two Taslim, although it is also allowed to offer them with one Tashah-hud and one Taslim.
