Text and translation

English translation

1244. It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "When the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ raised his head from Ruku' in the Subh prayer, he said: 'O Allâh, save Al-Walid bin Walid, Salamah bin Hishâm and 'Ayyâsh bin Abu Rabî'ah, and the oppressed in Makkah. O Allâh, tighten Your grip on Mudar, and send them years of famine like the famine of Yusuf.'" (Sahih)

Commentary

a. The proper place to recite Qunut Nâzilah (supplication in the event of a calamity) is after rising from Ruku' in the last Rak'ah. b. In it, the Imâm recites appropriate supplications in a raised voice.
