Commentary

The expression 'previous sins' used in the context, generally mean sins that are of the category of 'minor sins'. However, sometimes even major sins stand the chance of being forgiven as a reward for some exceptional act of virtuosity performed by the sinning person. The more full of sincerity and conformity to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ our fasting and nightly prayers shall be, the more chances they stand of inviting Allâh's pleasure in forgiving our sins.
