Commentary

Drawing pictures of living animals is prohibited, regardless if it is drawn on paper, a wall or a piece of cloth, or a statue made of clay, stone, porcelain or plastic etc. The commandment of blowing life will be given to the artists just for the sake of making them ashamed, and to make clear the gravity of their crime, thus this commandment will in fact be a form of chastisement.
