Commentary

It is not right to take back something given to someone as gift, whether the gift is something ordinary or precious. A father may take back something that he has given to his children. The same rule of taking a gift back from a child applies to the mother as well. Some scholars even included the maternal grandfather and grandmother, paternal grandfather and grandmother in the same rule.
