Commentary

Safeguarding an entrusted thing, and not breaking the trust, is the true character of a Muslim. If an entrusted thing is damaged or lost, its same substitute should be returned, and if it is damaged or lost by some mishap, and there is no negligence or carelessness from the trustee, then there is no replacement for it.
