2856. It was narrated that Umm 'Atiyyah Al-Ansâriyyah said: "I fought alongside the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ in seven campaigns, looking after their goods, making food for them, tending the wounded and looking after the sick." (Sahih)
2856 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ: «غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ، أَخْلُفُهُمْ فِي رِحَالِهِمْ، وَأَصْنَعُ لَهُمُ الطَّعَامَ، وَأُدَاوِي الْجَرْحَى، وَأَقُومُ عَلَى الْمَرْضَى»

Women used to participate in Jihâd in the period of the Prophet ﷺ, but it was mostly before the revelation of the order of Hijâb. After that, the Prophet ﷺ did not encourage women to participate in Jihâd.
