English translation

2989. It was narrated from Talhah bin 'Ubaidullāh that he heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: "Hajj is Jihād and 'Umrah is voluntary."(Da'if)

Arabic text

2989 - حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْخُشَنِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَمِّهِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْحَجُّ جِهَادٌ، وَالْعُمْرَةُ تَطَوُّعٌ»
