Footnotes

  1. 1

[1] "Meaning: 'He ﷺ indicated with his hand, just as I am indicating with my hand, but my hand is shorter than his hand.'" Explanation of Musnad Ahmad by Sindi.

  2. 2

[2] Ibn 'Abdul-Barr recorded this narration with various chains, one of them through the route of Shibâbah, from Shu'bah, from Sulaimân, and here it says: "He said: 'I said to Al-Barâ'". Indicating that the speaker here is 'Ubaid bin Fairuz, and the one who said: "What you dislike" is Al-Barâ', and Allāh knows best.
