English translation
3148. It was narrated that Abu Sarihah said: “My family started to put pressure on me after I came to know the Sunnah. People used to sacrifice one or two sheep, but now our neighbors call us stingy.” (Sahih)

3148 - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَرِيحَةَ، قَالَ: «حَمَلَنِي أَهْلِي عَلَى الْجَفَاءِ بَعْدَ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ، كَانَ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ يُضَحُّونَ، بِالشَّاةِ وَالشَّاتَيْنِ، وَالْآنَ يُبَخِّلُنَا جِيرَانُنَا»
