English translation
3505. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said: "If a fly falls into your drink, dip it into it then throw it away, for on one of its wings is a disease and on the other is a cure." (Sahih)

3505 - حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «إِذَا وَقَعَ الذُّبَابُ فِي شَرَابِكُمْ، فَلْيَغْمِسْهُ فِيهِ، ثُمَّ لِيَطْرَحْهُ، فَإِنَّ فِي أَحَدِ جَنَاحَيْهِ دَاءً، وَفِي الْآخَرِ شِفَاءً»

Commentary
a. If a fly falls into drinking water, milk, tea, etc., then destroying such food of drink is not allowed. b. Allāh has created an antibiotic substance in the body of a fly, which has the power of destroying the bacteria of many diseases. When the fly is sunk into the water the substance exits from its body due to the pressure of the water and then dissolves in it. c. Allāh ﷻ has created the cure of many diseases, placing them close to their causes as He made the cure of many local diseases in the herbs and shrubs of that area. This is a great and especial mercy of Allāh upon human beings.
