English translation

369. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Cats do not invalidate the prayer,[1] because they are one of the things that are useful in the house." (Hasan)

Arabic text

369 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ يَعْنِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيَّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْهِرَّةُ لَا تَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ، لِأَنَّهَا مِنْ مَتَاعِ الْبَيْتِ»
