Commentary

a. Pig is an impure animal; a Muslim does not like to touch it let alone the matter of cooking its meat or touching its blood. Likewise, any game that involves gambling should be hated. b. One of the reasons for the prohibition of chess and gambling is that those who engage themselves in such games waste their time and do not care about even their prayers. Being busy in any other game to the extent that it affects one's worship, remembering Allāh, and fulfilling the rights of human beings adversely is forbidden.
