Commentary

Going to bed leaving the candles, lamps and the like burning, may lead to disasters. It may cause a fire in the house. During winter, to warm the room a coal-stove may be used. In a closed room, leaving it burning while sleeping may cause a fire or the accumulation of the poisoned gas may be fatal.
