Text and translation

English translation

4334. It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Kauthar is a river in Paradise whose banks are of gold and its bed is of rubies and pearls. Its soil is more fragrant than musk, its water is sweeter than honey and whiter than snow." (Hasan)

Commentary

a. The river of Paradise is so superior and distinguished above the rivers of this world, as the other blessings of Paradise are different from the blessings of this world. b. The bottom of the Kauthar River is filled with gems like, corundum and the like, instead of stones and pebbles, which increase its beauty and make it more attractive.
