English translation

435. It was narrated that 'Uthmân bin 'Affân said: "I saw the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ performing ablution and he wiped his head once." (Sahih)

Arabic text

435 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ، فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ مَرَّةً "

Commentary

This means that, unlike other parts which the Prophet ﷺ washed two or three times, he wiped his head only once.
