English translation

65. It was narrated that 'Ali bin Abu Tālib said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: Faith is knowledge in the heart, words on the tongue and action with the physical faculties. (limbs of the body)." (Maudu')

65 - حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ أَبُو الصَّلْتِ الْهَرَوِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُوسَى الرِّضَا، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْإِيمَانُ مَعْرِفَةٌ بِالْقَلْبِ، وَقَوْلٌ بِاللِّسَانِ، وَعَمَلٌ بِالْأَرْكَانِ» قَالَ: أَبُو الصَّلْتِ: لَوْ قُرِئَ هَذَا الْإِسْنَادُ عَلَى مَجْنُونٍ لَبَرَأَ
