English translation

800. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said: "A Muslim does not regularly attend the mosques to perform prayer and remember Allāh, but Allāh feels happy with him just as the family of one who is absent feels happy when he comes back to them." (Sahih)

Commentary

Allāh's feeling happy or unhappy is one of the attributes of Allāh. The unanimous view of the pious predecessors regarding the attributes of Allāh is that we believe in them as they are mentioned in the Qur'ān and Ahādīth without either denying them or twisting their meaning, or giving them resemblance to any of the created things.
