105. It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: 'O Allâh! Strengthen Islâm with 'Umar bin Khattâb in particular.''' (Da'if)

105 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ الْمَدِينِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الْمَاجِشُونِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الزَّنْجِيُّ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الْإِسْلَامَ بِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ خَاصَّةً»

Commentary
The Hadith is Weak through this chain of reporters, but is Sound from other sources. The event of 'Umar's accepting Islam took place in the 6th year of the Messenger of Allâh's Mission, i. e., seven years before the Prophet's emigration to Madinah. (See The Sealed Nectar, Safi-ur-Rahman Mubârakpuri, p. 112). The fact that the Prophet ﷺ prayed to Allâh to bring 'Umar to the fold of Islam is a clear proof of his superior standing in the sight of the Prophet ﷺ.
