English translation
131. It was narrated that Qais said: "I heard Sa'd bin Abu Waqqâs say: 'I am the first of the Arabs to shoot an arrow in the cause of Allâh.'" (Sahih)

131 - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، وَخَالِي يَعْلَى، وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْماعيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، يَقُولُ: «إِنِّي لَأَوَّلُ الْعَرَبِ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»

Commentary
130 & 131 It is certainly a matter of honor for anyone to be the first in any work related to jihâd, and there is no harm describing such a feat as part of Allâh's bounty, and the individual's thanks and gratitude to Him for the same.
