English translation
1551. It was narrated that Abu Rāfi' said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ placed Sa'd gently in his grave and sprinkled water on it." (Da'if)

1551 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّقَاشِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، قَالَ: «سَلَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَعْدًا، وَرَشَّ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ مَاءً»

Commentary
'Salla' in Arabic means the bier should be placed at the foot side of the grave (where the deceased's feet will be in the grave) and when the body will be lifted from the bier the head of the deceased will go first into the grave and then rest of the body.
