English translation

1603. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said: "No man who loses three of his children will ever enter the Fire, except in fulfillment of the oath (of Allâh)." [1] (Sahih)

Arabic text

1603 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يَمُوتُ لِرَجُلٍ ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ فَيَلِجَ النَّارَ، إِلَّا تَحِلَّةَ الْقَسَمِ»

Commentary

Naturally one loves one's own offspring more; therefore observing patience for the death of children has special reward. The word 'children' includes both the sons and daughters. The reward is equal whether sons die or daughters. This reward is for both the father and mother. Fulfilling the oath means one will just pass over the bridge over Hell but will not enter it.
