1776. It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "I used to enter the house to relieve myself, and there was a sick person there, and I only inquired after him as I was passing through." She said: "And the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ would not enter the house except to relieve himself, when they were observing I'tikâf." (Sahih)
1776 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، وَعَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ لِلْحَاجَةِ، وَالْمَرِيضُ فِيهِ، فَمَا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ إِلَّا وَأَنَا مَارَّةٌ، قَالَتْ: وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، «لَا يَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ إِلَّا لِحَاجَةٍ إِذَا كَانُوا مُعْتَكِفِينَ»

The person making I'tikâf should not come out of the mosque except for a necessity. A person is allowed to leave in order to relieve himself. A person engaged in I'tikâf is allowed to go home to use the toilet if the mosque has no toilet arrangement; likewise is the need of taking an obligatory bath. Similarly if Friday prayer is not performed in the mosque where a person is observing I'tikâf, then he should go to the main mosque.
