English translation

1778. It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ used to bring his head towards me when he was next door (observing I'tikâf), and I would wash it and comb his hair, when I was in my apartment and I was menstruating, and he was in the mosque." (Sahih)

Commentary

Taking a shower and washing ones head during I'tikâf is permissible. I'tikâf is not affected if a part of the body, for example the head, is taken out of the mosque during I'tikâf. A menstruating woman is not allowed to enter the mosque, but she may pick up something from the mosque by extending her hand.
