Text and translation

English translation

1809. It was narrated that Râfi' bin Khadij said: "I heard the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ say: 'The person who is appointed to collect the Sadaqah — who does so with sincerity and fairness is like one who goes out to fight for the sake of Allâh, until he returns to his house.”’ (Hasan)

Commentary

Collecting Zakât with full rights means the collector should take as much amount as compulsory according to Shari'ah; he should not ask for any extra beyond the fixed amount which would oppress those paying neither should he take any less than the amount due which will violate the right of the recipients.
