2335. It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahmân Al-A'rāj said: "I heard Abu Hurairah narrating that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'When anyone of you asks his neighbor for permission to fix a piece of wood to his wall, he should not refuse him.' When Abu Hurairah told them this, they lowered their heads, and when he saw them he said: 'Why do I see you turning away from it? By Allāh, I will force you to accept it.'" (Sahih)

Commentary
Thrusting wood into the wall means, either to fix a peg, or to place a beam etc., on the wall to put a roof on it.
Linguistically the Arabic text translates as: 'Keep hitting it on the shoulders' and it means whether you like it or not I shall keep telling you the rule of Shari'ah and you will have to act upon it.
