English translation

2782. It was narrated that 'Abdullâh bin 'Amr said: "A man came to the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allâh, I have come seeking to go out in Jihâd with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allâh and the Hereafter. I have come even though my parents are weeping.' He said: 'Go back to them and make them smile as you have made them weep.”’ (Hasan)

Commentary

To avoid all means of saddening and displeasing one's parent is mandatory. The expiation of disturbing parents is doing the deeds that please them.
