English translation
2995. It was narrated from Jâbir that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Umrah during Ramadân is equivalent to Hajj." (Sahih)

2995 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ، تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً» بَابُ الْعُمْرَةِ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ

Commentary
The reward of every deed increases in the month of Ramadân, likewise, the reward of 'Umrah increases to become like the reward of Hajj. If one has the opportunity of performing 'Umrah in Ramadân he is strongly encouraged to do so. c. Though the reward of this 'Umrah is just as the reward of Hajj, it cannot replace Hajj. Therefore, if Hajj becomes obligatory on one, he has to perform the Hajj; 'Umrah performed in Ramadân cannot be a substitute for Hajj.
