English translation

3071. It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ forbade a man to depart until the last thing he did was (Tawâf around) the House." (Sahih)

Arabic text

3071 - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنْ يَنْفِرَ الرَّجُلُ، حَتَّى يَكُونَ آخِرُ عَهْدِهِ بِالْبَيْتِ»

Commentary

All the efforts should be made to perform the Farewell Tawâf when all the arrangements of departure are completed, and nothing is left except moving to the bus depot or to taxi stand for departure or leaving to the airport or seaport in order to return to one's homeland.
