Text and translation

English translation

3089. It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The one in Ihrâm may kill the snake, the scorpion, the aggressive predator, the vicious dog and the harmful mouse." It was said to him: "Why is it said that they are harmful?" He said:[1] "Because the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ woke up because of one, and it had taken the wick (of the lamp) to burn down the house." (Da'if)
