Commentary

a. It is a Sound Hadith that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited blowing in a vessel. (See Hadith: 3429) b. Abu Sa'eed Khudri ؓ narrated that the Prophet ﷺ forbade blowing into a drink. A man said, "If he sees specks in the vessel?" He told him to pour some out (i.e., pour some water to come out with it). The man said, his thirst was not quenched in one breath, he told him to remove the cup from his mouth. (Jāmi' At-Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1887). The Hadith proves that one should breathe outside the drinking vessel.
