English translation

3375. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: "The one who is addicted to wine is like one who worships idols." (Hasan)

Arabic text

3375 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مُدْمِنُ الْخَمْرِ، كَعَابِدِ وَثَنٍ»
