English translation

3393. It was narrated from Jâbir bin 'Abdullâh that the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: "Whatever causes intoxication in large amounts, a small amount of it is (also) unlawful." (Hasan)

Arabic text

3393 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «مَا أَسْكَرَ كَثِيرُهُ، فَقَلِيلُهُ حَرَامٌ»
