English translation
3583. It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet ﷺ said, concerning how long a woman's hem should hang down: "A hand span." 'Aishah said: "This may show her calves." He said: "Then a forearm's length." (Da'if)

3583 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «فِي ذُيُولِ النِّسَاءِ شِبْرًا» ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: «إِذًا تَخْرُجَ سُوقُهُنَّ» ، قَالَ: «فَذِرَاعٌ»
