Text and translation

English translation

3716. It was narrated that Anas bin Mâlik said: "Whenever the Prophet ﷺ met a man, he would speak to him, and would not turn away until he (the other man) was the one who turned away. And if he shook hands with him, he would not withdraw his hand until he (the other man) withdrew his hand. And he was never seen sitting with his knees ahead of the knees of the one who was sitting next to him.” (Da’if)

Commentary

This is an example of the noble character of the Prophet ﷺ. Muslims should behave in the best manner with their companions.
