English translation

3865. It was narrated from Salmān that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Your Lord is Kind and Most Generous, and is too kind to let His slave, if he raises his hands to Him, bring them back empty," or he said "frustrated." (Hasan)

Commentary

a. Allāh responds to all the supplications of a slave (provided there is no impediment that prevents it from being accepted). But its impact is observed sometimes in this world and sometimes in Hereafter. b. Both hands should be raised at the time of supplication. c. This Hadith proves the attribute of Highness for Allāh. i.e., He is above the Heavens, not everywhere, but His knowledge, might, and mercy encompass everything.
