Commentary
Telling a fabricated dream is a great major sin.
Telling a fake dream becomes worse because it could not be verified whether he really saw it or not.
Some people claim that they saw the Prophet ﷺ, or a pious person in their dreams. Common people, believing it to be a sign of their piety and holiness, start respecting and honoring them. While the real honor is offering good deeds; otherwise, the non-believers and hypocrites used to see the Prophet ﷺ, in real life but due to their disbelief, they did not deserve any respect.
